From across the room their eyes met. He smiled. She returned. Everyone else was least interested in anyone but the birthday boy. The birthday song was sung and party had begun. Also, so had their story.
They spoke. A lot. She smiled because he made sure she did. He wasn’t one of those who’d go down on one knee and fancy the woman with a flashy ring but she didn’t have those kind of tantrums either.
He was a cute boy with pretty eyes. She was just another gal. He charmed his way with women and she just sat their and blushed. He didn’t let her get distracted for a bit. Honestly there was nothing that could possibly do that to her.
They talked for hours. They were young and so was the night. He got her favourite track to be played and they danced. They danced like no one was looking but in fact everyone was. It was a special kind of feeling she never had before. She liked it very much and made that very obvious with the glow on her face. He was never more proud of himself.
And then in the middle of this beautiful night something really astonishing happened. There was a massive jerk. The kind you don’t experience everyday. The floor cracked. And slowly to did one of the walls. A part of the roof just dropped like extra cheese from a cheese burst pizza. The chaos needed no invitation. There was music and shudder and something that seemed like an eternity of screams. He grabbed her hand and pulled her close to him. He asked her to not worry and trust him on getting her out safe. It was an earthquake, how could she not get scared? She still said yes and followed his lead. It was not that high a building but the damage was massive.
As soon as the situation seemed over and hardly anyone was found injured, a unanimous decision was made to get out safely. Everyone rushed to the gates and balconies. These two picked the gate. The hand was still held and movements were brisk.
They all tried to run outside but would the earthquake let go that easily? It appeared not. It struck again. This time, even harder. He had just made his way out and another part of the ceiling dropped itself with people from the floor above. The ceiling aimed right at her and of course didn’t miss the target. There, he saw the loss of his newly found love. The shock gripped him and made him numb. Movements were still happening around but for him, everything paused right there.
He grabbed her by her waist gripping her tightly. She twitched a little, shut her eyes but went closer anyway. He said, “I love you.” She’d heard that enough to not believe in it anymore. She nodded. Said she did too. This time, not meaning a word. He apologised. Said he knew he’d done her wrong. She nodded, once again.
She had seen him in the arms of another woman while he claimed to have loved her. That image just wouldn’t get out of her head. She fought with it, tried to throw it out, tried to make herself believe in their love but all her efforts seemed to be going down in vain when she saw him today.
He cupped her head with his huge caressing hands, looked her in the eye and asked for her forgiveness. She continued her gaze at the floor. She had nothing to say to him for she knew if she said something, she’d take him back.
He carefully leaned forward and kissed her forehead. She kept thinking of things to distract herself, eyes still shut. Her body was giving in even though she tried refraining herself. She fought this battle in her head with her winning and losing both at the same time. She knew he wouldn’t do that again. She thought that the first time too but he ended up breaking her trust. She couldn’t go through all of that again. She needed to put a stop to that. She needed to close this. She needed an end.
But where would this bring an end to anything? He would rule her thoughts for as long as she could think of. He would be gone but he would still be missed. Looking at anything would remind her of him. She could break down in tears at any moment now. She wanted to send him away but she didn’t want to let him go.
Was there any other way to get things done?
But she put her foot down. Wrapped her arms around him. Hugged him as tightly as she could. She could see a smile curling up on his face. She captured this image thinking she’d need it later. Gave him a peck, touched his face then turned around and walked away to never ever see him again.
Everyone has that one true love of their life. Something/ Someone for whom they can sacrifice any joy of their life. Something that they’re crazy for. Something for which they become a crazy stalker and know everything, in and out.
I guess like ‘Rose’ from ‘Two and a Half men’.
Some like a woman. Some have their Superman. Some have ze alcohol or ze weed. But he was different.
It’s not love, after a point it is an addiction. You want to know more and more about it/him/her and every tiny detail is just so nicely settled in that corner of your brain.
And now you’re scared how true this is.
He also is. Should be.
He loved it since the time he knew how to spell it. He was jealous of the others who had it but didn’t value it. He wanted to study, so that he could work, so that he could earn, so that he could buy his one and only. He’d day dream about it. He’d cry for it. He’d smile at the thought of it. He loved it, dearly. It was his only dream. His Enfield.
He could smell it from a mile away. He knew about the in and out of the engine and the machine. He didn’t want the bike cause he could ride it, he learnt how to ride cause he wanted that bike. He might even shed a tear while reading this.
I hope someday he meets his true love. I hope there is no one that comes in between this love. I hope this love remains pure, forever.
Love Lists for Life. One more. About Love.
They say Love is blind. Love is forever. Love knows no bounds. Love sets you free etcetera, etcetera.
Par, kya tumne kabhi kisi se pyaar kiya?
Kabhi tumne kisi ko dil diya?
Maine bhi diya… lalala.
We know about the unending needs of a woman.
What does love make a man do?
Here’s a list of the top 15 things a man does, when in love.
15. Carry her handbag. (Why not? I mean, everyone does a lil bit of adjustment when in Love!)
14. Recharge her Phone. She doesn’t go out and earn, does she?
13. Watch chick-flicks with her. When else can you watch the movies you love?
12. Throw the cockroach out of her house while both of y’all are screaming like a ‘One Direction’ fan. You know even you’re scared of flying roaches. Who isn’t?
11. Eat her left overs. You know she can’t eat a lot. Why’d you buy her the 6″ subway sammich’ then?
10. Text her friends. This will make them bitch about you, to her. Stay away.
9. Not take advantage of her when she’s drunk. (That’s the reason she got drunk in the first place.)
8. Always be her +1. And make her realize that you’re an overly-attached boyfriend and then make her start hating you.
7. Call her, Text her or be with her and make her realize you’re there for her 24×7. I have nothing to say except, give some S P A C E.
6. Write love letters and cute mails. I guess that invented the cute metal song. (Most of the people here won’t get that joke, but never mind.)
5. Dedicate songs to her. She doesn’t need to know how much you suck at singing. Stop with posting stupid songs for her on your Soundcloud.
4. Love her when she’s going through ‘THAT’ time of the month.
3. Fix her computer. Who better than you would know how to put a serial number for a software and install it?
2. Spend your money on her shopping. She comes with a price tag, doesn’t she?
1. Get her a teddy bear. What could be a better way of telling her she’s immature?
Go kids, make love! 🙂
All she needed was a lil bit of care. A lil extra effort. All he could do is give a lil bit of attention.
Her fate was taking her down and she needed him to get up. There wasn’t any other bothering but then again, there wasn’t any more room.
He shot her down and kissed her with a smile, he slammed the door but he took her for dinner.
She could do with the simple joys he gave, but with time, that changed. With time, it all became materialistic and fake. There were no random texts no random trips no random hugs. Everything needed a reason to happen and may be the spark was gone.
He was hell bent on ending it, she was trying to put the pieces together. Holding it all, letting nothing apart.
For him, a new chapter was starting and he didn’t want her to play the same role in that.
For her, the old chapter was still motile.
There were so many unsaid, unheard things, they let it be. That just grew with time and let the bitterness in them, free.
There was much more love, so much purity when this all started. She thought to herself, is that how we saw this going?
There were other pressures that held both of them down, but each couldn’t understand the other, which was a major let down.
When random conversations end, you know it’s not the same anymore.
There’s a lot of formalness and no random plans.
The start of this journey was not as complex as now.
He saw her first and fell in love for which she was so not sure.
He made her fall in love with him, there were happy texts and emails.
They spoke all night and met in the day and planned their happy days.
He went to places she liked most and she thought she did the same.
Turned out he needed more space now, that they had not done till date.
The adjustment was difficult, no doubt,
She couldn’t do it at first and that’s how,
All the arguments began.
Now the mushy-ness was already getting less,
The space was his only concern now.
He pampered her to get to her and now wanted her to act mature.
She couldn’t understand why she should change, for a guy who wouldn’t even get her.
There weren’t all sad days like you think there are, cause happiness is a way of life.
They still hung out and went for dinner but spoke just like some man and wife.
He wasn’t so attached, prepared to leave,
She couldn’t take it all by herself.
She tried ways and means to convince him to stay,
Not physically but at least in some way.
They are still going on and I’m sure for a while will,
For what they have is not so weak.
Because where there is love there will always be
Something or the other to seek.
